characteristics
As a result of the reflection of the thin microcrystalline layers of orthoclase, albite, and other minerals, this stone produces a bluish white light. As the intensity of the light emitted can be changed depending on the phases of the moon, people in the ancient times were extremely amazed and it was even worshipped in ancient India as the sacred stone in which the moon dwelled. There is an interesting legend that says if you put this stone in your mouth on a full-moon night you will be able to see your own future. It is well known that there is a connection between the moon and women. It may be a good idea for women to remove the stone during full moon. In Japanese this stone is called gecchoseki (literally‘moon stone'), likewise the sunstone is called nicchoseki (literally‘sun stone'), both belong to the feldspar group.
history
It is said that the moonstone was so named because the blue-glowing stone resembles the autumn moon. As the moonlight lacks heat energy and is weak, the bluish white light also changes according to the phases of the moon. The moonstone is thus deeply related to the moon.
