the meanings of the stones

Offers pure and gentle feeling, while maintaining a emotional, spiritual, and physical balance.

characteristics

This stone is found in the form of a monoclinic system containing various parts: the black part is acmite, the orange part is Tinaksite, the greenish yellow part is Canasite and the pale ash-yellow strewn everywhere in the stone is Steacyite. The white, transparent edge is potassium feldspar.

history

Charoite was found by Russian geologists Vera P. Rogova. It was recognized as a new mineral in 1978. Despite being discovered some 30 years before that, it was commonly thought the charoite was actually amphibole. Rogova took over research on the stone from the previous researcher and came to the conclusion that it was indeed a new mineral. The name of the stone comes from the Chara River in Siberia, where it was found. Another explanation is that the name comes from the Russian word charo, meaning ‘charming,' as the stone is so beautiful that one is charmed by it.
